Mascara? Great! When you're that big and mean you can pull that look off!
The snow is Woodland Scenics snow flock mixed with white glue then applied with a very old brush, after that I sprinkle the base with the flock to give it a fresh fallen look. That's it, nothing too difficult. I always get asked about the bases, and freehand, those two elements get me the most comments. The snow recipe actually came from Aelorien, you may or may not have heard of him, apparently he's some sort of Wood Elf painter, apparently.
The bones and horns just took a lot of time, and a lot of repainting to get "perfect". Bone and horns are done with Kommando Khaki, then Ogryn Flesh, then Khaki, then bone, then sepia, then bone, then white, then sepia, then a final white on highest areas. The skulls were painted in one day. The horns took forever. One day, I worked for hours on one guys horns. The horns used the same colors as the skulls. The freehand on the helmets were done with the skull colors. I have painted tons of skulls, so when I got to these I had already figured out a good method, so they actually went a lot faster than the horns, which require more time and patience, not to mention a much steadier hand. I think that covers everything.
@Declis of the Leaves: I hope you can match me, or beat me! I look forward to seeing your efforts. I actually used Armory White as an undercoat for these minis.
