Hey, for you guys who said you would buy one, and for those skeptics out there who didn't think I'd really do it, I'm happy to announce, Tales of Battle issue 1 is complete.

I still have some minor touch up work and some proof work, but the mag is about ready for the printers. I will be sending it with how many to print in the next 2-3 days.

So if you are interested at all, I hope you will buy one. I'm printing a very limited number based on the number of people who pay.
So go right now to:

http://www.talesofbattle.com/

Click on the Subscribe/Purchase menu item at the top and lets get this Indy GT magazine rolling.

Thank you,

Ben Burns

Wow, this came out of nowhere for me

Looks like the perfect magazine for the dedicated Warhammer fan. I just ordered the first issue and if its not too horrible you can count me in for a subscription

One thing that I couldn't find on the website and that I would appreciate, is a 'Table of Contents' for each issue or at least for the current and next issue.
Also, how many pages do you aim for for each issue and is it full color?
One last question: When do you think the shipping of the first issue will start?

Good Luck with this project!

Thanks guys, let me see if I can answer a few.

1. On the right side of the front page of the website is what will be included. But it will vary from issue to issue slightly. They will always include Table 1, and A GT in Review. And probably Gathering Hordes.

Issue 1 has:
An intervew with Roy the The Rieksmarshall
A close up look at Rick Thompsons road Warrior army.
A look Back at the Lonewolf
Table 1, a battle between Jordan and his Warriors of Chaos and Abe Apfel and his Vampire Counts.
Doh, A look at what went wrong, what the loser might have done better to change the game.
And a lot of original art and photo's of the GT.

Issue 2 hasn't been laid out yet, but will be covering a first time GT, Capital city Carnage in Austin.

The number of pages is kind of based on the number of subscribers. the more I get the more pages I can put in. The more pages, the more articles I can put in. As I don't want to lose money on this venture, or the wife will cut it off. Advertisers can also boost the number of pages. Had a couple lined up, but things weren't completed in time for issue 1 to go to print, so I had to run without any.

So Issue 1 is 16 pages, but not 1 ad, its straight 16 pages of Warhammer GT goodness.
And is full color on every page.

Issue 1 is at the printers now. I was hoping I'd be getting them from the printer at the beginning of this coming week, but now I'm told it will be the end of next week. I will get them out in the mail first class within a day of me getting them. So I expect you'll get yours around April 7th-9th.

Longer than I wanted, but the printers have been slower than they originally led me to believe they would be. Lost 1 day uploading the file, their website said they got it, but they didn't. Then took an extra day to proof it. And is taking 2 days longer than I thought it would to actually print it. Every day adds up.

Sorry for the delay.

I hope you guys enjoy it, and I'll try not to make them too horrible. ;)
