I first started to play warhammer because of Morheim, and I played Shadow Warriors. and thats what really inspired me to start up a wood elf army. Now I have most of my models assembled and now I'm ready to start painting. But I was wondering how unfluffy would it be to have Shadow "wood" Elves. They wouldn't be Asrai but Shadow elves that have "learned" the ways of the wood from the wood elves and have an aspired goal to protect the forests of the world and in shadow elf fashion wonder the world freeing other forests from the beats of chaos and cleansing them of the evil taint.

Is this idea completely unfluffy with the WE ideals?

As long as you stick to elves, why not?

There's the glade guard, the scouts, the waywatchers, and for other troop types you can take glade riders, eternal guard, and to a stretch even wardancers and wild riders.

Taking a dragon gives you one extra melee unit without resorting to fancy spiritish critters.
