Standard Alter
Lvl 2 with scroll and Stave

2x10 Glade Guard
3x8 Dryads
1x5 Glade Riders with musician

1x5 WildRiders, Standard and warbanner
1x8 WarDancers

1x6 WayWatchers.

It will be against about 1600-1700 points of Dark Elves, Hydra Coldone Knights, theres a Manticore in there somewhere maybe. Im not sure as I havent played him yet. I wanted to put Treekin in and more WarDancers. I think I need more magic defence or at least more AMD but Im at a loss at the moment. How does it look so far?

I loathe the 4+ spell that generates D3+1 Power Dice. However, I wouldn't take another scroll caddy. If you are that worried about magic, I'd drop the Alter and take a Level 1 BW with CoR.

As for the list itself, you might drop the Glade Riders. I imagine Dark Riders will make short work of them. If you still need or want more points, drop the third unit of Dryads. That would give you ~225 points to play around with.

How do you intend to take down the Hydra? Don't forget it can move through woods too.

I was more intending to avoid it where possible. If it does get to the woods (damn skirmishing behemoth ) maybe some treesinging might do something.... or not.
I was really wanting to just run away from it :) With 225 or so I can get Treekin in there which I think would help a lot, certainly give him something to shoot at maybe.

In the campaign theres a mini competition of who can take the most wounds off the Hydra. I think its 3 so far.

I'm not a fan of Treekin, but as stated I don't see the usefulness of Glade Riders vs. Dark Elves. I think those points could be used elsewhere. However, that's only 129. Dropping the Dryads is just an option if you want 225 to use.

Would Warhawk Riders be any good? Great Eagle? I think they might get shot up rather fast.
I could do a treeman but it seems rather a points sink at this size of army.
Just musing out loud really. I will post my final list and tell you all how it went if we end up playing.

Location: Got an 8:30 rez at Dorsia... great sea urchin ceviche!
You could loose 1 unit of Dryads and the WayWatchers for the Lvl1 BW with CoR and possibly the AoN to tie up pendant masters, that way you can keep your Standard Alter. HoDA and those big st6 attacks and fast movement are huge against the Druchii but you can beef up your magic defense as well. Then you'd have enough left over for a Great Eagle. Against Druchii the Eagle can chase away those Harpies. Truth is that DE are one army that can March Block better than we can, so committing an Eagle to chasing Harpies will level the playing field and let you keep your shooters focused on his combat units/DR.

So here is a revised list the evening before the game....

Standard Alter
Spellsinger, scroll and stave
Branch Wraith, CoR Lvl 1

Glade Guard 2x10 one with lords bowman.
Glade Riders 1x5 musician
Dryads 2x8

Wildriders 1x5 standard and warbanner
Treekin 1x3
Wardancers 1x7

Great Eagle 1x1

Should be 1549

Im not happy getting rid of the Lvl 2 but really I am adding a Lvl 1 as I have only been using a Lvl 1 up till now. (smaller games in the campaigns)
I really want the Waywatchers back but I shouldn't whinge as I wanted the Treekin in. I should have some speed, a threat to the Hydra, enough shooting and combat.
He does have 150 points on me though so so long as I get a couple of things go my way I will be happy and a win will be a bonus.

Ill let you know how it went if I can remember to take some notes :) Thanks very much for the input guys.

What a let down he didnt even turn up so no chance to challenge and the campaign died a death :(

However I did massacre some ogres with the same army list. Treekin standing up to two large bull units with characters, one on the front and the other on the flank. Got beat up a bit ran off but not run down, rallied got charged held them up for the alter and glade riders. He conceded at this point after killing 4 glade riders. Just before this the dryads and branchy overran the leadbelchers got into the flank of a five ogre unit of maneaters with handguns and a butcher with bangstick. Crunched through one ogre a turn they eventually ran from combat straight into the side of a building being played as impassable terrain. Dryads laughed as 400 points or something similar pasted against the wall.

I will have to wait a bit to take on the DE as I take a playing break.
