I've never read the comic books. I'm not a fanboy by any definition of the word.
This movie seriously is one of the greatest films I've ever seen. Not just in terms of action, but in plot, character, emotion, the whole gamut.
I'd write more, but I've had two hours of sleep and my baby girl is going a hundred miles an hour right now. ugh.

Christian Bale is hands down the best Batman there ever has been. I wont get to see it until Sunday, its driving me crazy... And in this situation more than any, I am a fanboy.

I agree. And not only do I think Heath Ledger is the best Joker, which probably isn't too hard a feat to pull off honestly, but one of the greatest villains I've seen. His performance definitely lives up to the hype.
Anyways, my girl is taking a nap, so I'm gonna take one too. I'm such an life watching the midnight showing.

Although I saw it on Friday afternoon with Korean subtitles (don't ask), it was very good. I will certainly see it again.

I can't say enough that I appreciate how "un" - cartoonish this movie was. These characters have been fleshed out so well. I did not once think of the Joker as a clown but as a Bona Fide sociopath and pathological Anarchist. Even his laughter was realistic and appropriate and never forced or stereotypical.
I'm just, as a real fan of Batman (especially the old cartoon "The Animated Series" on Fox which these movies seem to have drawn from a lot), so grateful for these actors to have lent so much credibility to the story. and to Christopher Nolan for his vision and superb execution. I've read a few articles and reviews that said that this movie could open up a knew future for "comic book" movies. But I hope that this one stands as something different than just a comic book adaptation, just like Batman was always so unique among other Comics.
Really a good movie.

I'm a huge dark knight fan. Loved all the batman movies. This one was about the best of them all.
I did have 1 problem with the movie and that was the no search on the Ferries?? Huh?
But other than that, movie was awesome. Can't wait for the next one. They are looking at Johnny Depp for the Riddler.

Haha, yeah I noticed that too. Especially since I think I remember the Joker saying to stay off the ferries and bridges. Maybe that was after they were already on the ferry, I can't remember. Oh well, guess I'll have to see it again. Darn.

Joker's comment was for the "Bridge and Tunnel crowd."
Having the Bus crash through the bank and just blindly pull out and blend in with the others so infallibly was a pretty big stretch. Maybe the bus driver in front of him missed it, but the bus driver behind him? Come on!

Ah, that's right.
Maybe he timed the stoplights or something, so he knew when the gap would be, hehe. Either way, it would have made more sense if he had just got in behind them.

You really have to just forgive those sorts of things. It would be a shame to hold it against them when the movie is really genuinely good.
The line between creatively engaging and horribly convoluted is only a wafer thin.
Or rather, "its only a wah-fer thin."

But a real simple fix would have been.
When power goes out, have the joker come on. go unseal this area of the Ferry, where I cleverly put these bombs last week, along with the detonators. If you move the bomb it will explode. Duh.
But I don't hold it against them. Still love the movie, just always hate such obvious holes in a movie.

I just watched it yesterday. Loved it.
Christian Bale is a very good Batman, but Ledger as the Joker steals the movie. From the moment he kills the mob guy with a pencil until his final comment about gravity, he alone makes the entry price worth it, and reminds everyone that clowns should be feared.
On the Bridges and Tunnels: I think that the surprise being that he hadn't bombed up bridges and tunnels, but the ferries; is pure genius. Insane, murderous genius, but genius anyway.
An excelent villain for an excelent movie.
