The Golden Stag

The Golden Stag is a painting competition put on for the members of Machiara's Battle Glade. We seek to encourage our members to enter and strive for greatness but to hopefully inspire others as our creations come to life. We all need a little extra motivation
to paint at times.

The Rules
Each member of the Battle Glade may enter once per category.

The categories
Wood Elf Single Miniature - (20mm/25mm Infantry / Cavalry in Game terms)
Wood Elf Large Model - (Ogre Sized Model + in game terms - Treekin, Treeman, Dragons, Stags, Unicorns, Warhawk Riders, etc....)
Wood Elf Regiment (Tabletop legal unit with all possible command models)
Open Category (Dioramas, Anything that does not fit in any of the above)

Being as this is a Wood Elf forum, we (the moderators) find it fitting to restrict the main categories to Wood Elven miniatures only. (*** Wood Elven minis could be conversions as well - the mini does not have to start with a WE)

Feel free to enter any type of miniature in the open category (Chaos, VC, etc...)

Miniatures from any manufacturer are allowed, as are scratch builds. Conversions are welcome and encouraged but your miniatures will be judged on the quality of painting over conversion work.

If you choose to include a display base with your entry, please try to keep it to a minimum (outside of the open category).

Please submit a maximum of two pictures for each entry. Please note that a picture can be multiple images clipped together in 1 image file. If you do not have a web site to host images, please PM me. I can host any images as needed.

I will create a sticky thread for each category and these threads will be restricted to entries only, any other posts will be deleted. Please feel free to create additional threads for discussion.

Entries will be accepted through the entire month of April and May. At midnight May 31st(U.S. CST), the threads for entry will be closed and no further entries allowed.

The winner in each category will receive Premium Poster status (much Like Aelorien Darkthorn) and a custom title of your choice. Note that although you can win in multiple categories, there is only 1 award for winning (outside of the Golden Stag).*** Please note - the Mod staff reserves the right to deny any Custom Title and send you back to the drawing board. Please be mature/respectful in your selection of a title.

The golden stag winner will also receive a box of G.W. Glade Riders miniatures.

There will also be a "member's choice" award where you, the forum members, will vote on your favorite miniature across all the categories via a forum poll.

Our panel of judges will pick the winners in each category in addition to the winner of the Golden Stag. The panel of judges will not be allowed to enter other than an "honorary" entry. Honorary entries will be eligible for the "member's choice" award.

The Panel of Judges = Domus, Aelorien Darkthorn, and reddz.

Those are great suggestions! I am not sure if we will tweak the existing contest or add them into the next one. I will discuss it with the rest of the mod team.
