Everything looks good, the Steed is a great idea! I hope he doesn't topple too much!

It's actually really stable when Pinned and glued down But I might change the legs of the horse a bit since the straight on looks really to static but I'll Have to see. And have to be fair it's not My Idea I "Borrowed it from this one:

This army inspired me to get into fantasy and Woodelves.

I was just thinking that with the steed so high off the base, it may be a tad top heavy.

Thats a nice army there you linked, somehow I missed it over on TWF.
Drycha looks good so far.
My first thought on seeing the horse was that it was "floating through the air" and seemed unrealistic.
After seeing the link, I have a better idea what you are shooting for and with some base buildup will look very nice.
One thing about the Greenstuff though, use water (or spit) and really work hard to try and smooth out where the GS stops. I figured out how to do it mostly after my army was done...
Looking forward to more.
Cheers
Domus

He guys just wondering how I would be able to get a effect like this
on dryads? I would like to get some burned dryads since they are part of the forrest which get's attacked all the time. seems fitting that there should be some burned patches in the forrest. any suggestions comments or links are apriciated.

Just use a dark gray basecoat, do some drybrushing to get texture, then do washes and/or glazes to bring the color back down to a darker gray or black.

Well, you could try to stipple them too, see which is more effective. I think it would be very time-consuming to mimic the effect exactly, but it could be done with freehand. I wouldn't recommend the freehand, it may be frustrating, if you're not used to it!

Fire! just kidding, burning miniatures is cruel and unusual.
That is a cool pattern you got there, It will be difficult to make it "read" on a small miniature. But it sounds like an excellent challenge.
Here are some thoughts.
1. For a cool burned effect, paint some of them half burned. You might even try a lightning strike, it curls around the tree in a spiral pattern. (had lighning hit 20' from my house once, the accompanying thunder shook the house!).
2. Try to use the base to carry through your theme . . . ash piles, burnt logs, perhaps even a flame here or there on the base.
3. Notice the long changed vertial lines, and then punctuated by lots of short horizontal lines. I would try this
a. Paint the whole thing dark gray
b. Paint in the vertcial dark lines/pattern.
c. Now paint in lots of nearly random lighter gray horizontal lines between the black
d. Highlight the horizontal lines up to white.
c. "Edge" around the black verticall pieces with skull white, connect a few of the black crevieces together with diagonal white lines.
d. paint some very small black horizontal lines here and there.

Hey guys,
well finally finished assembeling my first dryad unit based and ready for undercoat ( besides a little GS in the back branchsockets). Also assembled a dryad archer looks pretty cool my GS on those isn't to great but good enough for now I think. I should have some pictures soon, then you can share in the goodness. Off course CC and sugestions will be greatlly apriciated.
Cheers Jayz
p.s. hopefully I can get my hands on a camera soon so curious what you guys will think!
