Okay, so I just started playing whfb and I decided on a wood elf army. So far I have only painted my dryads. As you can see, I have chosen a fall theme. Just wanted some comments and suggestions. I will update this when I finish my glade riders. Glue hasn't even fully dried on some of the models. These are just a few...

They look pretty cool, very scary, as I assume that was the feel you were going for. The fall colors are nice. what kinda paint are you using? and how are you painting the dryads?

i think you might need a little work on defining the texture of the dryads, it kinda all looks like one shade of brown. Another point that I think might need some work it the eyes. Perhaps if you paint them black, then just pin dot the red it might give them a more menacing look.

other than that I think they look pretty good.

There is this glue that i use, both for the furniture at my store and for my miniatures here is the link...... http://www.mohawk-finishing.com/catalog ... ictNbr=268 ... it is a instant adhesive. you need to use the activator with it ... it will dry in roughly 5-8 seconds and hold pretty well ... just be careful with your finger.

I like the bases. My wood elves are have summer colors, but I have always regretted that I didn't paint them in autumn colours.

Vanwa: Thanks for your suggestions. I am using acrylic paint. It's horrible of me I am sure, but I got all of my paints, I literally have about fifty colors in 2 oz. bottles, at Micheal's Craft Store, 2 for $1. They have been working very well. They are manufactured by a company called Apple Barrel. I am cheapskate =) As for painting the dryads, I first did a coat of white and then have done successive washes in continually darker shades of brown and then some red, some yellow and some orange washes for different models. While the camera does not do them justice, I have decided that a black wash or even a midnight blue wash will make them more defined. I used a 3/000 detail brush for the leaves and eyes. However I just bought a 10X zero spotter that I think will allow me to make more definition in the creases and on the eyes. I wanted to do glowing eyes but my brush was too big. I will definitely go with your suggestion and repost when I have fixed the texture. Thanks again.

Eglardion: Thank you, I worked especially hard on the bases. I got the fall clump from Woodland Scenics as well as the turf for the base ,and I am proud to say that the rest of my bases consist of rocks, baby pinecones and sticks that I got from outside. =) I almost did summer themeing myself, and then I saw the fall foliage clump and changed my mind. In consolation, there is always paint thinner =)
