Ramsesis over at Asrai.org suggested some sort of an Asrai web ring. Basically just a set of links for the various WE sites. Any thoughts?

I am intending on doing something on the portal page in the way of links to other sites. Don't know what yet. Ideas are welcome.

I should think a list of links and active participation by the crew will be enough.
Though it may be hard to keep people patrolling the sites and posting it here...
What sites are there anyway, besides the glade, Asrai.org and the GW WE section?

Asrai.org
Mach's Glade
and
The Lost Glade
That's the three big ones (500+ members).
As soon as we install a portal for phpBB 3 on Asrai.org, we'll include a linklist to our friends. You'll be there. Expect it this weekend.
In the meantime, the Warvault Webring is happy to invite you to the biggest webring for Warhammer sites. The actual webring is undergoing some redesign (yeah, blame my laziness for that too ). I will get you a link to it once I'm done.

Easily accessable links would be the best, most strait forward way to do that. But perhaps there could be something like a contest once a year that stretches across the sites. Not the Battle Report Contest we have right now, but something like that. I don't no how you would judge that with mods from every site arguing with bias, but it could work.
I think a web ring should include other Elf races, like Ulthuan.net and Druchii.net. That way it would stay versitile rather than becoming wood elf one dimentional (which could be very possible). With the release of the new Dark Elf book roughly a year away, the potential exist there and also with the new High Elves and the ever dominant WE's to really bring out a lot of great tactical discussions from a lot of different view points.

What we should avoid, willow, is to make this too big. 3-4 wood elf forums are manageable, 9-12 elven forums is just too big! Even I don't visit 9 forums in a day, how can you expect anyone, dedicated as he may be, to patrol that?
I say, stick to the woodies, and take some nice stuff, like interforum painting competitions, drawing competitions, etc. with it. Let the mods regulate it.
Sorry if it's too much, but I believe the mods can handle it.

I can now entertain you with the fact that the Warvault.net Webring ladder thingy is up and running. Any site who wants to can join it by following this link:
www.warvault.net/webring
That is also the link users should go to when they want to read site reviews as well as rate sites. A little "How To" will be written someday. It's fairly easy. Just hit "Stats" for the site you want to see more about and rate yourself.

I think that we should keep it small, so 3-4 asrais sites is best.
The world of the other elves are pretty dominated by ulthuan.net and druchii.net but we have enough connections in there to have the contacts.
So I suggested a small asrai only thing. And it would be nice to be able to tell them over at U.net or D.net, when they say how big they are that "well, our sites are smaller... but we have many sites instead!"
And I want that to remain so. With a webring, prerferably by having the links on a prominent place on our portals, we can achieve that easily.
When things get running, we could have some suprasite events or contests. Just suggestion.
An all-elven webring would be way bigger to handle and we already have the warvault as a bigger webring. It would then be only a bunch of links and little else.
But a smaller asrai webring could be much more rewarding for the sites and members involved.
