Great tactica. It really ties togather many of the main pages articles. Maybe you could wirte a tactica of how defeating a balanced army! I think they are the hardest nuts to crack.

Do you have an army example you could apply to this? I find seeing the application of theories to be the best way of understanding them.

This is an excellent article. I will have to re-read at my leisure at some point.

An excellent analysis! One of the key things that you have to do with any all-comers army is to think about how you are going to respond to various likely threats. It sounds like an obvious thing, but you really to have some specifics thought out ahead of time to be effective.

I have to admit, I usually design the "angle" I am going to use to take the fight to the enemy (the subject of the next article) first and then add these types of considerations in within that framework. For me at least, it clarifies the options and lends focus when it comes to fleshing out specific units and strategies for the various roles you have outlined.
