Haven't been on the forum for a while, since I have not had a chance to play. Anyway I started to toy around with a build I think can be quite nasty.
Wood elf highborn + great weapon + light armour + shield + Bow of Loren + Amber Pendant + Arcane Bodkins 252p
Noble + Great weapon + Moonstone of Hidden Ways + light armour + shield 118p
Spellsinger + deepwood sphere + a resplendence of luminescents 140p
Spellsinger + 2 dispel scrolls 140p
2x10 glade guard 240p
2x8 dryads 192p
5 glade riders + musican 129p
2x6 wardancers 216p
6 wildriders + command + warbanner 217p
1 great eagle 50p
10 waywatchers 240p
The idea is that the board has atleast 1 wood, but preferably 2. All of the characters but the scroll caddy will join the waywatchers, and that will mean that I will have about 700 points tied up in one lethal unit. The enemy will go for this unit, and if the unit is in a wood it can fend of almost anything. Any knights who are comming for them will be in a serious trouble, and even wraiths will suffer horribly due the magical arrows. The unit has a 50% chance to inflict a killingblow on a dragon rider, so I would not get near this unit with one. The big threaths will be very strong magic and huge monsters, but hopefully the 7 str 6 attacks from the heroes that will always strike first will fend of most enemies. The deepwood sphere will ofcourse punish anyone who comes in the forest.
With this setup I want the enemy to come at me. The rest of the army will stay at a distance and combo charge those who fall into the waywatcher trap. Does it sound nasty enough? Should my heroes have somekind of wardsave? If I upgraded this list to 2250 or 2500p I would probably take a treeman and treekin. Another option would be to change the lord to a spellweaver.
I still have 66 points to spend. I'm open to any suggestions.
